North Side Parents Demand Answers on Longer School Day!

Come Out to Support Communities United for Quality Education at Forum on Longer School Day!

Dear Friends,

On Wednesday, October 26, 2011 leaders from Communities United for Quality Education (CUQE), a coalition of parents and students convened by parents from the Albany Park Neighborhood Council will host a community forum in response to the longer school day. Over 150 parents and students representing schools from across the North Side will present their concerns and recommendations to public officials. They will share their perspectives on a longer school day, make recommendations for how the extra time can be best utilized, and make demands for the resources needed to effectively implement the longer day in the face of budget cuts. CUQE leaders have extended invitations to Mayor Rahm Emanuel, CPS CEO Jean-Claude Brizzard, and Alderman Margaret Laurino and Richard Mell.
